Privacy
Your information, in plain English.
Short version: we only collect what you choose to give us, we use it to help you, and we never sell it.
Last updated: October 2026
What we collect
- Reading the site: nothing personal. You can read every guide without giving us anything.
- Building a plan: the answers you choose (where you are, grade, county, interests, any question you type) plus your first name and email, so we can send you your plan.
- The newsletter and partner forms: what you type into them. These forms are run by Tally, a form service.
- Your browser: the site remembers small preferences like light or dark mode on your own device.
How we use it
- To send you your plan and, if you asked for it, the newsletter.
- To read your question and follow up if we have a better answer.
- To understand, in anonymous totals only, what people across Michigan are looking for, such as how many families in a county are interested in the trades.
What we never do
- We never sell your information.
- We never share a student's information with anyone.
- We never send your details to a partner unless you are an adult and you checked a box asking to be connected to that specific, named organization.
Kids and students
Michigan Skills is for families, and we ask a parent or guardian to fill out the plan for students under 13. If we learn we have information from a child under 13 without a parent's involvement, we delete it.
Deleting your information
Email hello@michiganskills.com and we will delete what we have about you. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe.
